The man I called Dad

06/18/2012

I've never met my father. I think he missed out. But I do have a step-father who is pretty awesome, though. He still plays guitar, but he recently lost a finger in a work accident, so it's really hard for him now. I wasn't raised by my step dad either. He is the father of my two younger sisters. I was raised partly from my grandparents (age 0-10 and 15-17) and my Aunt and Uncle (age 11-14). I mostly looked up to my grandfather for the male figure in my life. He was a wonderful man. He loved music and would make everyone he knew a mixed tape that they would enjoy. He would always get it right. I still believe to this day that he could talk to animals. He was funny and he loved to draw, which is where I got my inspiration. He pasted away when I was 14 of brain cancer. I have a tattoo dedicated to him of a lighthouse because one of my fondest memories is climbing a lighthouse in Cape May with him. His initials are down the front and there are 3 blue roses at the bottom because his eyes were blue and it was his favorite color.I miss him so much. He was my DAD. The one I would give a card to and hug and take to a buffet. I love you Grandpa, Happy Father's Day <3
