Monday: Usual slog at work til six o'clock. Oh apart from the fact that they didn't do a change run at all and put me on till 4. One of the busiest in the shop. Ran out of change three times. A woman handed me a £50 note then said she didn't want £20 in pound coins. I asked if she had anything smaller than a £50 and she said no. Seriously why the hell would you get £50 notes. Hardly anywhere takes them, you have to specifically ask for them at the counter and if you're only doing £20 worth of shopping why bother? Later on I ended up giving a girl £4.20 in 10p pieces. Hilarious. Luckily the change that I asked for 6 times arrived then.

Tuesday: Another day of back and forwards. Dropped the mrs off. Came home cleaned the bathroom. Back to a restaurant in town for my celebration meal. I chose a gammon steak with pineapple. It had been grilled which was nice. I was the only one there from checkouts but I knew a few other people. I went back home again after that. Then had to go back again to pick the mrs up after work.

Wednesday: I must of done something but can't remember what!

Thursday: Went to Glasgow with the wife and the mother in law. This was mainly to go back to the jewellery arcade (there's a massive one in Glasgow) and check there weren't any other rings she wanted more for her upcoming birthday. There weren't. This was the first time we had taken June to Glasgow she was looking forward to going to the big Primark but was very underwhelmed with it. She also took us for lunch at Marks and Spencers. We informed she could have an egg sandwich as Marks only use free range eggs, any other eggs that aren't free range tend to make her ill in about half an hour.

When we went for the bus home an X14 came into the bay (the bus station bays are very wide. He went up the kerb. He came in way to fast. Don't know what he was trying to do but he was lucky it didn't tip. Glad our bus was the X15. The bus was a half hour late but it was about that in the morning as well so I was expecting it.

Friday: Got some final silly bits and pieces for the anniversary tomorrow.

Saturday: Went with the mrs to Edinburgh to finally order her ring. She loves it. It is a bit on the expensive side but I gave her a cheque towards it and so did her mum. I don't think she was expecting that much from me but as I said we've got no-one to leave it to so what the hey. She got a ghost bucket which glows in the dark, two battery halloween candles some glow sticks, an audio cd, a wine glass with skull and crossbones on it (with black roses on the stem) and a bottle of M&S stuff she likes. Oh and the best one a Halloween pup that wags it's ears up and down in time to the Adam's family theme tune.

Sunday: A day of lazing about.

I got accused of being racist this week, which was hilarious as the black guy in my queue looked up and said to this Asian bloke. "What you talking about son? That kind of crap gives us all a bad name carry on and I'll kick your ass."

All I did was ask if he wanted some bags. Clearly he thought I said something else.

I've got friends of all colours and it doesn't matter to me what colour they are. If they're ok with me then I'm ok with them.

Anyone who pays in £50 notes I always imagine they have this secret stash under their floorboards and it makes me giggle.
