hey guys...

07/15/2009

Im not sure if Im still writing to anyone now seeing as its been so sporadic between updates lately Ill be surprised if anyone still has me on their list! Anyway what's new..
We've moved for a third and final time within the last 6 months, hoping to not go anywhere again, the house is good, expensive for rent but Im happy just to have somewhere stable to live!

in other news, not much is going on, I was so upset to hear about michael jackson, what a legend, and so young its been a few weeks now and it still hasnt quite sunk in thats he's really gone from the music scene forever!

not a lot else to report to be honest! work is still the same, still struggling away with money, my hours at work have been cut really bad, only contracted to 25 hrs now which is not that great, but jo will be changing my contract tomorrow, hopefully for the better so fingers crossed!

I guess Ill write again when something happens (another few months? )

Well, it's important to have the temps and humidity and all that just right...any little mishap in their environment can cause them stress and they may not to eat.

When we first got our Ball he wouldn't eat either. What do you guys feed yours (dead, live, frozen/thawed)? Ours had been eating both frozen/thawed and live mice before he bought him, and when we first offered him a t/f he wouldn't take it. We swallowed our love for mice and fed him a live one, and he's been eating dead f/t mice ever since. We also feed him in a smaller Tupperware like container as opposed to in this tank, so as soon as we put him in there he knows its meal time.

Sometimes ours will shrug off a meal if he's shedding, also. Honestly this is the first snake we've owned, so I'm not all that experienced, but that is pretty much everything I know! Also make sure if you're using frozen mice you thaw them properly, we put ours out for a few hours and then soak it in a plastic bag in warm (not hot or boiling) water. Good luck!!!!!

No they won't eat frozen, they have to be thawed. There have been a few times where our snake has struck his food and then not eaten it...I think in those times it was because it wasn't fully thawed. my boyfriend usually squeezes the middle to make sure its not cold.

Also make sure you're holding it up high by the tail so the snake will strike the mouses head...our snake has refused meals before because he grabbed it by the middle and couldn't work his way around it to start eating.
