tell me baby, what's your story?

Well, here I am, updating again! I'm proud of myself thus far. (: Hopefully I can keep it up! This entry is probably going to be short, seeing as I'm typing it out in the Common room and everyone's playing Rock Band - I may just have to join in for a song or two soon! Haha. This week felt so long, yet so short at the same time. I really don't know how to explain it. We had to read a children's story in Speech class - I read Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss and I think I did really well! I stumbled once or twice, but other than that, I feel pretty confident. Totally bombed my first quiz in Com 101 with Jordyn because neither of us did the reading and a group quiz doesn't work well when no one read. xD Creative writing has been going well, nothing too major happening yet. Arabic is a TON of fun! I love my class so much. (:

Now onto film... Oh lord. Gretchen, my professor, is a bit wonky. She's kind of crazy, and is really scatterbrained. She isn't clear on assignments and expects you to just know stuff. The first Friday she let us out an hour and a half early, but today was seriously Hell. I woke up at 9:10, barely threw myself together and then a girl, Rachel, on my floor was nice enough to drive me to the Calder Art Center, where my class was (it's on the other side of campus, literally the furthest building - well, tied with the Connection. But with the Connection you can at least take a bus to get yourself closer. There's no closer with Calder). I had the Film lab from 10-1150, and WHOO baby! My lab TA? <3 He's a senior film and video major, and he's kind of gorgeous. His name is Charlie and he pretty much made my day, haha. So, after those two hours completely flew by, and I had bought a meal with a wrap, chocolate milk and some chips the night before so I could actually eat. Well, turns out, I didn't finish my lab until 11:55, only 5 minutes before my class started. It wasn't enough time to go eat. :/ So, I held off, and then we got a whopping 8 minute break at 2:12, and by then, the wrap had been sitting for since 9:35 that morning and it had mayo on it, so I didn't want to risk eating it. So I ate a bag of Sun Chips and endured the rest of the class. Honestly, the first 4 hours I was in there, it was totally bearable. But once we entered hour 5 and especially hour 6, I just wanted to puncture a small child's eye repeatedly. It was really bad. Don't get me wrong, I love the subject and the work, but we literally were on the computers for 15 minutes, max in the lecture/discussion. The other 3 hours and 45 minutes we watched stupid film clips that just about put me to sleep and "discussed" the EXACT SAME THING over and over and over and over again. It was just really bad.

But then I came home (I pretty much froze from the walk back), got another wrap from Kleiner that I could actually eat, hung out for a little bit and eventually took a 2 hour nap, lol. I've been hanging out in the Commons ever since, so it's been a relaxing night. It's rounding midnight, though, and everyone is thinking about heading to Applebee's and I really wanted to go earlier, but now I'm really debating. Not sure I want to go. :/ Ah well. We'll see.
