In my Dad's last stage he was in an assited living center. The plan was to take him to inpatient hospice when his last stage came. I was alone with him when this time came and I told him we were going to transport him to hospice. He begged me not too. I told him that we had to do what was best for him. He died 20 minutes later. I believe he willed himself to die there becuase of my words to him. My last words to my father while he was responsive were ones that made him die.

Or... maybe God called him home before he had to spend time in hospice where he didn't want to be, and before you had to make him be there for his own good. It isn't your fault your father died. The thing to remember is he is at peace now, and no longer in suffering - which I'm sure is exactly what he wanted for you both.

please don't think that.. Maybe he asked God to take him home already..

No matter how much he didn't want to go to the hospice, your words were NOT the reason that he died, and I'm sure he didn't blame you for the decision. If he willed himself to go, it had nothing to do with you!

Things happen, I can understand not wanting to go to hospice, that means that everyone knows you're not going to make it. Maybe he did 'will' himself to go...maybe not. But it WASN'T you that did it, no doubt about that.

You were definitely not the reason why he went.

no, its not your fault. His disease killed it.
