DO YOU GET FLOWERS????

10/12/2012

I have always been the one to have bought the flowers and things for my girlfriends.

But secretly I would love to get them just once before I die.

I buy myself flowers. If I were to receive them from someone else, I'd feel weird.

And maybe speak up / drop hints about it? Some people are dense when it comes to those sorts of things.

You could always kick up some fusses when you two pass buy the flower section while grocery shopping if you don't directly tell them.
Or maybe when a scene of someone receiving flowers happens to be seen you can always talk about how sweet it is.

It might be obvious, but I don't think it's weird. spouses / significant others should be happy to do something small like that to make the other one happy.

I agree with her. ^^

try walking past flowers and dropping a hint like, you know I think it'd be great if you got me some flowers. "

done deal.

if that doesn't work, you need a new SO.

I've been given flowers once in all of my relationships so far. And it was because he felt guilty for not being around for valentine's day. They were nice flowers, but that's the only time I've been given flowers. Which is just as well since they make me sneeze and sniffle something fierce.

This is funny because I just got flowers from my hubby and kiddos the other night. It was the sweetest gesture, that I actually cried about it. (Probably hormones)

I would be straight up about it. And if you don't wanna do that then I'd drop subtle hints that lets your SO know that you'd like to be on the receiving end.

Giving flowers to a lover/romantic partner/loved one never made any sense to me. "I love you, and to express that love, here's a handful of beautiful dead things. Enjoy them briefly before they wither and rot!"

I do occasionally buy flowers for my wife, and deliver them to her place of employment. When I do that, the flowers aren't the gift, merely the vehicle. The actual gift is STATUS. All of her coworkers become killingly jealous as they are forced to compliment her on how great her hubby is. She gets to enjoy the rest of the day, perhaps even the rest of the week, seeing them all green with envy. Now THAT's a romantic gift.

*Gives you a big basket of flowers* Sorry, that's the best I can do. I've given flowers before but have never recieved. Then again I am a guy so most people probably don't think I want flowers. I don't care for them, but the thought would be nice sometimes.
