My rant on Twilight!

03/31/2009

pretty smiles && make up quote
seriously.

Okay- I finished the book a couple of days ago. And it was AMAZING!! I can't wait to get the second one!

Yesterday, Melissa and I bought the movie. I was so excited to see the effects and how they played everything out. And I was absolutely disappointed!!! I'll admit, if you don't read the book, it might be a good movie!! But otherwise, um..NO!

They screwed everything up!!! WHERE WAS THE EMOTION??!! In the book, the emotion between Edward and Bella is the most important thing!! In the movie, they meet, they fall in love, the end! WTF?

And also they left out everything about Alice! That was important to me, also! And they down-played the story that Jacob told Bella at La Push! And Bella trying to figure out if Edward really was a vampire! And, of course, the moment they actually fell in love, in the meadow!! :]

I understand that the movie cannot be exactly like the book. But, come on!! They added things that didn't need to be added! Like seeing James and his crew in the beginning! And those people getting killed! If they had've left that out they would have had time for the important things!!

Okay- I think I'm done! Sorry- Just had to get that off my chest! :]

THANK YOU! For once someone besides me is disappointed in the movie. Now I know I'm not alone. lol

I am the same way when it comes to reading books then watching the movie. It aways upsets me because they seem to always leave out the good things and put in stuff that has no point really. I wasn't too interested in the movie or book to Twilight but after everyone I knew saw the movie and was excited about it I decided I better see it. First I wanted to read it but knew that if I did I couldn't see the movie happily lol. Plus the book is wrote in first person (or the portion I read of it was) and I don't really like that but now that I've seen the movie (which from not reading the book was great) I will HAVE to read it since I know it will be 10 times better.

ryc: I was excited to see the movie because EVERYONE I knew who had seen it was telling me how great it was... Then when I saw it it was major disappointment. Oh well though, at least the book is good.

I have not read the book, but found the movie to be bloody awful. Perhaps the book would be worthwhile.

Lol I liked the movie for what it was. But I went in, knowing that it was nothing like the books, so for me, I kept them separate!!! but as usual, the books are always better

i like both, as gem said, i just keep them seperate. i think they did a good job on getting the basic ideas down in the movie though. maybe watch it again, you'll like it more?

I agree that they left a lot of things out - but you honestly can't expect them to fit a 500 page novel into a 2 hour long, low-budget movie.

I whole-heartedly agree it's better to see the movie before you read the books - that way it's just a good movie, period, and you just get pleasant surprises in the books.

i agree, the movie was awful compared to the book.

I agree completely! I disliked the movie a lot. And after watching it 100 times, you see things you never noticed. How poor the directing is, and the acting I thought was really bad.
