You stole my heart *Poem

05/28/2009

You stole my heart
5-28-09
Jonathan

You left me in this pool of pain
You could have stabbed my back, robbed my bank account but no, you took away my game

You bring on this cold weather
You bring on these short days and long nights
and this gloom around me and my brothers
It’s just not right

I went down to Kenmore Square
The streets are all bare
Even the college kids are not there

The streets were dark
The chairs are empty
The air is quiet
And there are no sausage venders

Hm, this one seems very different from the rest of your poems.
Sigh. I imagine a guy walking by himself down alley ways and small streets that are lit only by small street lights. His hands in his pockets and sad jazz music playing in the background.

I like the change of pace with this poem. Not so stressed on the rhyme which makes the poem itself not sound so forced, but like an actual conversation. Very nice!
