Osteoarthritis

01/07/2015

We took the dogs to get their rabies shots this morning..they are both in good health..Daisy Mae is 13 pounds and Bridge is 40 pounds.

On Friday the pup got under my feet when I was walking down the hall, and we both went down. I got bruises galore on my legs and knees, and Miss Daisy started limping on her right side. Of course, now I believe that I have hurt my beloved pug, and I feel like an asshole. But the vet said today that she has osteoarthritis (which is common in her breed), and her leg has probably been paining her for some time. He charged me $26 for 10 painkillers for her, and me, soft idiot that I am, bought them. (He also said that I could give her baby aspirin, but it wouldn't be as effective).

I haven't written much because my internet is down at my house..but my son Aaron just put me on his data plan on his phone, so hopefully I will be writing a little more regularly.

Been working on 24" x 24" afghans to donate to the Humane Society this Spring/Summer..I am on #5 right now. I am hoping to make at least 25 before I take them in. The Humane Society said that they needed 96, but I don't think I'm going to come anywhere near that amount.

Tried a new recipe tonight, pepperoni pizza in croissants - a *hot pocket* if you will. They came out okay, not anything to write home about.

Aaron has spent the past two days going for interviews for a job. Guess who the lucky one is that gets to drive him. And I am WAY out of my comfort zone driving on the icy/shitty roads in the winter. But, I guess that actually DOING it will give me the experience that I need, and I won't be so damned afraid to drive in the winter. Because really, I self-limit myself a lot of ways when I won't drive or go anywhere.

I think come Spring I am going to be looking for a job. Probably in retail - I just don't want to be a CNA anymore. That work is so mentally & physically draining. Not cool.

So, that about catches you up on my boring and unproductive life.

Catch ya later,

Aime

What an awesome thing to do. I didn't realize they needed blankets! That's a good idea.
