What would I do without Skype, it is only 10.45am and I have already had the best day.
Couple of hours Skyping with my bestie Korey and her girls. Anytime we get to skype it makes my day, heck my week. It is not the same as being in the same room but when Skype pops up and I hear and excited "Cafeeeeeeeen" and see a gorgeous baby grinning at me... there is just no better moment!
Its lovely to be back in the (slightly crazy) but wonderfully loving home of my dear friend as Kalilah goes about her usual crazy singing/dancing/jumping/squealing and darling Eilidh just keeps getting bigger and more mobile.
Korey and I are able to waste hours and hours talking about anything and everything and I think if we had no distractions (or bathroom needs) we could continue for many more hours.
Every time I am filled with so much happiness and thanks for the joys of technology and great friends but tinged with sadness that I can't cuddle with the gorgeous girls (and eat the delicious food that Korey cooks!)
So yes just an appreciation of Skype and sadness of the military life. I know we survive deployments but our husbands come home... when we are ripped away from our best friends we never know when we will physically see each other again... until Skype dates are the best! |
