This entry is for information regarding the Switch feature. This feature can be used when you have access to multiple Bloop accounts; it allows you to switch easily between accounts without having to log in and out. It does require a bit of setting up; this article explains how.
You can access your switching options by clicking
Manage my diary, then
Change switching options.
So, let's say you have a diary you use and update most frequently. We'll call this
main-diary. And let's say you have another diary that you don't use as much, but you wish to access occasionally. We'll call it
side-diary.
What you want is to be able to log into
main-diary and switch into and out of
side-diary.
To do this, log into
side-diary, and go to
Change switching options. In the search box, type the name of the diary you want to switch between - in this case, it is
main-diary - and hit 'search'. Click on the name of the diary when it comes up.
At this stage, you can dictate the level of access
main-diary will have to
side-diary: whether you can alter the diary, post entries or read from your main diary. Once you've decided, hit 'Save Switch'.
Now, log out of
side-diary and log into
main-diary. Under your diary name at the top of the right-hand sidebar, you'll see a 'switch' link between 'logout' and 'lock'. Clicking it will bring up the list of diaries you can switch into; in this case,
main-diary and
side-diary are on the list. Clicking
side-diary on this page will allow you to directly access that account, without having to login!
It does sound a little confusing, but the key is to
think backwards. If you want to be able to switch into a particular diary, you must log into it and then add YOUR diary to ITS switch list.
For security purposes, the switching only goes one way: if you add a group diary to your switch (by logging into the group diary and adding your diary to its list), anyone else logged into the group diary will NOT be able to access your diary.
Any questions? Just leave a comment. =)
