675 4th night of Chanukah with nephew Devin Rondo traded phone call 12 20 2014

Last night (Friday) was the 4th night of Chanukah. My mom baby sits my twin’s son from Wednesday evening through Friday early evening every week. She suggested my dad and I drive down so we could be together…plus I could give my nephew his Chanukah gift.

After fighting through the Friday afternoon traffic, what would usually take 35 minutes, took us over an hour and half. There was a long point where we were going an average of 3 miles an HR.

We got to the house about 20 minutes after my twin got home from work. Devin was out with my mom. Justin and Dad was able to bring it in. Gift from the car and Justin was able to set it up just in time. He place a tarp over the gift so Devin doesn’t see it till after we light the candles.

We sat around for a little bit talking and then we went up to the kitchen to light the candles. Devin was standing on the chair, I was standing next to the chair and Justin stood behind the chair. My parents were on the other side of the table with their phones recording it. …
Justin and I chanted the blessings while Justin was lighting the candles. We had Devin (who’s only 2 y 5 m old) sing the “oh Chanukah oh Chanukah” song. …with a little prompting because he was distracted by the fire.

Justin: What are we going to do now?
Devin: I don’t know.
Justin: yes you do, what comes after we light the candles?
Devin: WE GET A GIFT!
Justin: ok, go down stairs. Uncle Jonathan got you a gift and it’s down there.

(With my Dad recording)

Justin: Devin, your gift from the Chanukah man is on the table.
Devin: (opens gift) oh cool. A train!
Justin: do you know what his name is?
Devin: I don’t know
Justin: It’s Rocko
Devin: Rocko?
Justin: mmhhmm
Justin: Want to see what uncle Jonathan got you?
Devin: what?
Justin: (pulls tarp off the table)
Devin: WOW! IT’S COOL! I LOVE IT!
Justin: and can you read this?
Devin: Thomas?
Justin: mmhhmm it’s a Thomas train table.
Devin: Thank you Uncle Jonathan
My parents and Justin went into the living room and Devin and I played with the trains on the table for the next 40 minutes or so. We had so much fun.

There was a moment that literally brought a tear to my eye.
(I remind you, Devin is only 2 years, 5 month old)

I was kneeling next to Devin in front of the table, playing with the trains. I heard one of them was talking. I put my hand on the train that talked and felt around it, I was unsure how to get it to talk. I asked Devin where the button is. I didn’t realize Just was standing a few feet next to me at this point and he said “Devin, can you show Uncle Jonathan where the button is?”

Devin took my index finger and put the pad of my finger directly on the button “It’s right there Uncle Jonathan”

Justin or I did not mention anything about taking my finger or anything like that. Devin did it all on his own. Devin, my nephew, is wicked smaht

BOSTON CELTICS TRADE RAJON RONDO

The Boston Celtics trade 4 time all star, Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks for Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Nelson, first and second round draft picks along with a 12.9 Million dollar trade exception.

This is a great trade for both teams. Boston Loves Rondo and Rondo loves Boston but he wants to be on a contender and is a free agent at years end and the Celtics is a young team who is a few years away from being anything. The Mavs is a veteran team who needs a point guard to run the team. …It was a perfect trade for both teams.

Karen…I was skeptical if I should write about this. I talked to myself into writing about everything because this is my diary. Somewhere I can come write whatever I want whether you agree or not, what you think I am a fucking iteot and need to be taken out back and beaten some sense into me…
My brain totally agrees with you.

However, my heart says something totally different and I wear my heart on my sleeve and it will beat till I’m 6 feet under.

Karen’s sister in law gave Karen her first Nephew Wednesday night. She planned on driving home (back to her parents) Thursday morning and for a few days. I asked if she could call me when she’s in her car, on her way. She told me she would when she got on the highway.

We were on the phone for an hour and 20 minutes.
She had her dog, Mogi, with her. That dog totally loves me and the feeling is mutual.

Hmm we talked about work and job searching.
She is looking for any job which she can do that comes with health insurance.
We talked about my writing and how I need to publish my poetry. I told her about the peramataters some of the publishing company have. She told me that I should publish my own works so I don’t have to conform to publisher’s restrictions. She told me that amazon.com has their own place where you can publish works. She said I probably wont make much money but that’s how any author starts out. Who knows, maybe I could make it bit. She then went in a bit of a different direction, telling me about how her parents are avid history readers and they know famous writers and she could have them look things over for me if I want. She told me how growing up, she went with her parents to these historical book conventions where everyone dresses up as characters. She told me about one of them she went to. She said it was fun. Her parents still belong to a history reading club where they meet once a month. … It made me think..

We talked about my nephews. She talked about her day old nephew and that mother and baby are doing well. She told me that she realized she forgot a few gifts back at the house. One was a build a bear she made back in July for the baby and she forgot something at the house for her sister in law. She said it gives her a reason to visit again soon.

I told her, from my heart, without being direct, how I have felt about her and how I feel when I get to talk to her. She understands (don’t know how much) and she says it makes her smile.

Mogi was licking the phone and Karen was telling Mogi to stop that. It’s already clean. She said that she was happy to hear my voice. I said “hi Mogi mogi mogi” her tail went crazy.
Karen: aww Mogi misses you
Me: I miss Mogi too, a lot
Karen: Mogi wants to see you
ME: I want to see Mogi too. But what about Karen, does she want to see me?
Karen: YES
ME: you do?
Karen: I want to give you a hug.
Me: oh god, I would love to hug you again, to hold you.
Karen: me too
ME: but, is there any way I could see you up in Indianapolis? (where her parents live)
Karen: I don’t see why not. I would have to plan it out, but sure.

*that was about 2/3rd through the phone call, at the end of the phone call…

Karen: I’ll send you a picture with a long description (of her nephew)
Me: I would love that. (not sure why I was , but shocked she offered to do that)
Karen: ok, I will talk to you latah (inside joke)
ME: I have to say this, I have to, Karen…
Karen: hmmm?
ME: I love you.
Karen: I love you too. (in a different tone of voice, one from her heart… you know?)
ME: Bye
Karen: Bye

I had been seesawing if I should-shouldn’t get her a gift.
If I do, who could I get to help me get a gift. Could I get the the gifts on line? Can I send GC’s via emails?
I had previously looked at Michael’s store. She is huge into art and I have noticed she had mentioned the store a few times over the years. I went to their website to see if I could email a GC and you can, I just couldn’t figure out how.

Last week, when I was out shopping with my Mom and she said to me, you are all set now, right? I mumbled “yah”. In my head I was thinking, no, I still have one more I want to get.

I emailed my Dad Thursday night, asking him if he could take me to a few stores tomorrow but please, don’t ask any questions. (My mom asked me a zillion questions when I got the Christmas card from Dominique, and I didn’t want to answer any of them because I didn’t have answers.)

He said he would take me, he had some places to go too.

I knew where I wanted to go. I looked them up on google and both places were in my town. (my town has RT1 running through it, so we have 4 shopping centers, a two floor mall, and who knows how many restaurants squeezed in) The places my dad had to go to were also in my town
So it defanately wont be a lot of time traveling.

I got a GC for Michael’s store. So she can buy art supplies.
While we were in Michael’s, my dad saw mailing emverope. So I bought one of those.
I got a GC for Petsmart, for Mogi. The GC came with a $100 booklet of coupons.
I could not believe how expensive cards are these days so I got a short worded card. Not really my type but, not going to spend $6 on a card.

After lunch and my Dad picking up a book for my mom and alcohol for the Chanukah party… I went home and signed the card, gave my dad Karen’s address and he put it all together. We were heading over to Justin’s in less than an hour so we left about 10 minutes early so we could stop at the post office and get the package on it’s way.

Hmmm. So do you think you will get to see her in person again? You know this whole situation makes me worried for you because I don't want you to get hurt again, but I do wish for your happiness above all of that..so hopefully something happens so you can be happy with her once and for all.
